The Arc Greater Twin Cities

Objective:

The Arc Greater Twin Cities wanted to introduce a new fundraising event with live entertainment, volunteer and sponsor recognition plus a silent and live auction. Arc needed to produce a fun, entertaining and memorable fundraising event with limited time, resources and budget while coordinating both the creative energies and technical resources to make the event come off without a hitch.

Solution:

Contact Ron McCoy an experienced event producer with extensive knowledge and contacts in the Twin Cities production community. Ron secured a technical staging partner, Event Pro, to help make Arc’s budget go further. This arrangement of creative and technical expertise provided Arc with professional resources to produce, stage, lights, sound, and video IMAG the performance. The event’s entertainment ranged from comedians and solo performers to a twelve person ensembles and fashion shows. The large projection screen and expert sound and lighting provided the 650+ audience a unique intimacy with performers and speakers.

Results:

Very positive galas from 2008 -2016 exceeding expectations in fundraising, recognition and communication of mission. The critical factor was the way in which the mission of The Arc Greater Twin Cities – to serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families – was incorporated seamlessly throughout the event. Our donor audience raved about it, saying that Arc’s gala surpasses others in communicating why their support matters to people with disabilities, in an upbeat, warm and entertaining manner. McCoy & Associates played a key role in making that happen, with spot on suggestions for the script, program elements, music teasers, speaker support and more. High quality sound and lighting enhanced the audience experience, making the whole event extremely positive. In 2008, the Gala was planned on an extremely tight timeline and was a huge success, with a capacity crowd and strong financial results. In 2009, in the midst of a recession, we were concerned about following up on the initial success, but again the The ARC Gala increased sponsorships and attendance and exceeded its fundraising objectives. In 2016, The Arc Greater Twin Cities surpassed $500,000 with their  fundraising totals.

Fraser Annual Benefit Events 

Objective:

Fraser wanted to improve their annual fundraising event with expert professional assistance in staging, lights, sound and overall producer coordination. Fraser needed to deliver a fun, entertaining and memorable fundraising event for 700+ attendees with a limited budget while coordinating both the creative energies and technical resources to produce a professional event.

Solution:

Engage Ron McCoy’s help to produce the event. Ron’s expertise in live event production brought in, as his resource partner, Big Event , a local Twin Cities staging and technical production firm. McCoy helped produce the AV & video content and supervised the Big Event team to deliver a professional program for Fraser that raised the both the roof and event quality to new heights. Since 2005, McCoy has been providing his event management expertise.

Ron produced and directed an awesome “Fund A Need” video for Fraser’s Family and Mental Health Services.

Results:

Fraser with McCoy’s, help executed eleven very successful annual galas, 2004-2015.  Each event exceeded expectations in fundraising, attendance and professionalism for the evening program. McCoy helped Fraser coordinate all aspects of the event to create a seamless, organized and entertaining evening for hundreds of Fraser supporters.

Breck School Fundraising DVD “100% Essential 100% Breck”

Objective:

Breck School wanted to communicate their Annual Fund Drive message in a new, unique and friendly manner. Past efforts used a traditional approach with letters and meetings and they wanted more personal stories that communicated positive experiences from all three divisions, Lower, Middle and Upper School for the K-12 students.

Solution:

We proposed a DVD program that offered a modular approach, featuring a strong six minute overview, then separate chapters featuring students stories from the Lower, Middle and Upper schools. The 24 minute DVD was based on a concept created for Breck by Think Design Group, “100% Essential 100% Breck”. In addition to DVD distribution, Breck also used flash encoded modules on their fundraising website. The program featured Headmaster Sam Salas (Emeritus) and interviews with students of all ages.

Results:

The 2005 Annual Fund Drive exceed expectations and the video components both DVD and Web provided the additional interest and enthusiasm to the target audience of Parents, Alumni and Friends who graciously supported the Annual Fund Drive.
